Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship
Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, MMUF at Rice began in 1992 and is “the centerpiece of the Mellon Foundation’s initiatives to increase excellence in the faculty ranks at institutions of higher learning.”

Fellowships Advising & Service Awards Scholarships
The Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) offers holistic advising to underrepresented students interested in pursuing internally- and externally-funded fellowship opportunities that support graduate study, international travel, research, and civic engagement. Additionally, the CCL offers Service Awards Scholarships that celebrate the contributions of civically engaged students across campus and in the community.

Sharon Bush Community Building Award
Established in memory of Sharon Bush, a $500 prize is awarded in the spring of each year to a Rice undergraduate who has demonstrated exemplary dedication and leadership in building bridges across racial and cultural boundaries on campus and in the community.

Undergraduate Research Funding
The Office of Undergraduate Research & Inquiry (OURI) is a centralized office which aims to support undergraduate students by increasing research support across campus, enabling more transparent distribution of resources, and contributing to Rice’s goal of fostering a welcoming undergraduate academic culture. OURI provides multiple funding opportunities in undergraduate research including the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), Sustaining Excellence in Research (SER) Scholars, and conference funding.

Student Activities/President's Programming (SAPP) Fund
The Student Activities/President's Programming (SAPP) Fund is designed to provide financial support for student clubs and their events on campus. All registered student clubs are obligated to follow Rice University policies and procedures for the utilization of SAPP Funding. Please note, all clubs that apply for SAPP Funding must have a treasurer who has successfully completed Treasurer Training. Financial guidelines and procedures may be found on the Controller's Office website.

Rice Access and Opportunity Portal
There are three types of funding that undergraduates may request: 1.) Non-emergency funding through their Residential College Accessibility Funds, 2.) Non-emergency funding through the Rice Access and Opportunity Portal for financial support of academic, social, and professional opportunities, 3.) Emergency funding through the Dean of Undergraduates reserved for the most pressing and urgent needs requiring immediate action.
