
Legacy Retreat
The Legacy Retreat is designed to highlight and strengthen Black and Hispanic/Latinx American life at Rice. During the two-day event, incoming students engage in community-building activities, attend inspiring discussions from staff and peer mentors, connect with fellow students who share similar experiences, and develop a network of resources to support their successful integration into the Rice community.

Hispanic Heritage Month
Rice University celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, by spotlighting the history, contributions and achievements of Hispanic and Latino/a/e/x communities, especially as they relate to the campus community. HHM highlights a range of celebratory and educational events on campus featuring discussions, food and celebration

Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration in February dedicated to recognizing the rich contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout the country’s history. The monthlong celebration provides an opportunity to highlight the Black community’s struggles, triumphs and cultural impact, fostering a deeper understanding of the African American experience.

Pride Awareness
June serves as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and to celebrate, Rice University and many campus affiliates will host events to spread awareness about the LGBTQ+ community and educate on sexual and gender diversity.
